Alternative questions

You can also post questions on my Facebook Page or via Twitter…and I will do my best to answer those, too!  So, here goes, psychically or otherwise!  Answering 3 questions today.

Psychic question number 1 “What does the pinky finger represent in reflexology?”

As Michael Caine would say “Not a lot of people know this”.  Reflexology (acupressure for the feet) can also be applied to the hands and ears.  The hands also represent the body with the hands held up, palms facing towards you.  The fingers all represent the head, neck and shoulders, with the tips of the fingers representing the sinus and brain area.  So work the pinky finger (or all fingers and the thumb) for any of these symptoms…and any more you can think of that relate to the head or neck for relief from symptoms.

  • Sinus issues
  • Headache/sore neck/sore jaw
  • Toothache
  • General muscle tension in the head/neck area
  • Earache
  • Fuzzy headedness

Psychic question number 2 “What is the vagus nerve?”

As discussed in this post, the vagus nerve is “a mixed nerve that supplies the pharynx and larynx and lungs and heart and esophagus and stomach and most of the abdominal viscera”.   It’s a very important nerve in the body, and there is are medical tests you can undertake to see if your vagus nerve is functioning properly, especially if you have heart issues.

As discussed in my post about Dr Paul Yanick’s work (which came about because he was sick and dying from vagus nerve damage) – some alternative practioners, Dr Yanick included, are beginning to believe that some modern pharmaceuticals such as allergy medicines can inadvertently suppress the full functioning of the vagus nerve, causing many types of associated illnesses.  The vagus nerve can also be accidentally damaged during surgery, such as removal of the gallbladder.

Eat well, keep pharmaceuticals to a minimum if possible and research food supplements that feed your nerves.  Read more about the vagus nerve here.

Psychic question number 3 “What is a good essential oil to use for hives?”

Three people asked this recently, so you must all be psychic!  🙂  Having checked a few resources, Wintergreen seems to be a good option, even for hives that return (Just be careful around eyes,

Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) has a sweet, minty scent.

it could sting).  I use the Young Living essential oils since they are therapeutic grade.  If you don’t have Wintergreen handy, then the Panaway blend contains Wintegreen also.  Here’s a post I wrote a while back about the benefits of Wintergreen.

Thanks for the questions, psychic or otherwise.  And remember ‘great minds think alike’, so I’ll be happy to answer more questions you may have, whether you realise it or not in the spirit of this blog and with the help of Psychic Search.  As the great Ralph Waldo Emerson says “Every known fact in natural science was divined by the presentiment of somebody, before it was actually verified.”  Great presentiments, keep them coming!

Quick post to answer some recent questions psychically…

People are beginning to post some really great questions on this blog.  How do I know?  Because I’m psychic!  Naah, actually, not because of that (although I am developing intuitive skills as part of my spiritual journey).  It’s because of a plugin I learnt about on my journeys around the internet called Psychic Search by a company called MaxBlogPress.

With Psychic Search installed, I can see what people have been searching for from my dashboard (geeky term for central screen in WordPress) and even whether they searched locally from my search box (flick eyes right to see the Search Box) on the Mom On A Spiritual Journey site or directly from Google.
