What do psychic people eat?  This question popped into my mind last night as I was preparing dinner.  When you have a reading, you might not think of the reader as someone who is translating energy for you – but that is a big part of the work. Sometimes, we need to eat straight afterward!

Psychic People, Energy Workers – and Food?

If you’ve decided to have a psychic reading or an energy session, you’re probably not thinking about what the practitioner had for breakfast.

Yet the quality of the service you receive can be deeply influenced by the reader or healer’s personal habits and energetic care.

Why? Because when we give psychic readings or do energy work, the body’s energy moves in unusual and often intense ways.

Those of us in this field have to support ourselves both energetically and physically — through rest, grounding, and a nourishing diet.

Taking care of our bodies helps us sustain our stamina and clarity. And when we do that, everyone benefits.

The Highly Sensitive Connection

Highly sensitive or energetically attuned people process a tremendous amount of energy from the world around them.

In my case, if I don’t eat well or sleep enough, it’s much harder to give an accurate reading, just as anyone performs better in their work when their body and mind are supported.

Over time, I’ve learned which things to avoid to prevent unnecessary energy drain.

For example, I can’t watch horror movies or violent dramas — even some war films — because I find them deeply unsettling. They leave me energetically scattered, and I have to clear myself afterward.

As your sensitivity grows, quiet environments and a nourishing diet naturally become more important.

They’re not indulgences, they’re part of maintaining energetic balance.

One Food That Changed My Energy Work

I first discovered how avocados can support energy during my EMF Balancing Technique training in Sedona, Arizona.

The course was incredibly intense. On the first morning, I felt drained and hungry long before lunchtime, not ideal when you’re supposed to be running balanced energy through your body!

That evening, I intuitively bought a few avocados. The next morning, I ate half of one with breakfast — and the difference was striking. My focus was sharper, my energy steady.

It was night and day.

Later, during a channeling and meditation retreat at Mount Shasta with four powerful channelers, my two colleagues and I all ended up eating avocado toast for breakfast every day.

It became our quiet little ritual — and we all noticed how much stronger and more balanced we felt.

Why Is This Green Fruit So Helpful?

According to Medical News Today and the USDA, one serving of avocado (about 40 grams) contains:

  • 64 calories
  • 6 grams of healthy fat
  • 3.4 grams of carbohydrates
  • Less than 1 gram of sugar
  • About 3 grams of fiber

Avocados are rich in vitamins C, E, K, and B6, riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium, plus lutein, beta-carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Although most of their calories come from fat, these are good fats — the kind that keep you full, support brain function, and stabilize blood sugar levels.

Fat is essential for every cell in the body. It helps with nutrient absorption, supports the immune system, and even nourishes the skin.

Avocados also contain a natural plant sterol, beta-sitosterol, which helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

So yes — in my eyes, the humble avocado is a true psychic and energetic superfood.

A dear friend once taught me to eat it simply, with lemon juice and salt. It’s heaven.

Why Psychic People Often Avoid Stimulants

At a Kryon Seminar back in 2012, I received clear guidance from my spiritual team to give up caffeine.

That was not easy for a British tea drinker! The kettle was practically part of my daily rhythm.

But when I followed the guidance, the transition was surprisingly smooth — and I never looked back.

Now I enjoy decaffeinated tea or coffee, and I no longer experience the four-hour high-and-crash cycle (or the infamous “coffee sweats”).

For a warm alternative, I love Dandy Blend, a dandelion-root beverage that tastes remarkably coffee-like.

My son loves it too, and neither of us feels deprived. feels like we’re missing out on anything when we drink it.

Why We Often Avoid Alcohol

Further along my path, one of my Akashic Records teachers advised me to avoid alcohol — or at least to abstain 24 hours before working with a client.

She explained that alcohol makes the edges of the energy field “floppy,” which can cloud intuition or accuracy during readings.

I’ve found that to be true. A clear, well-contained field is essential for accurate energy work.

Of course, moderation and discernment are key. Some intuitive people use alcohol to quiet their gifts or block spiritual input, which brings temporary relief but dulls clarity over time.

For me, it’s simply about balance — not rigidity. I still enjoy the occasional Friday night drink (I don’t work Saturdays!). It’s about being clean, not boring.

Other Nourishing Choices for Energy Workers

I still eat chicken and fish, though in smaller amounts than I used to. After group work or multiple readings, a bit of protein often feels grounding and restorative.

After psychic work, the goal is to get grounded — to anchor the body after being open to so much subtle energy.

A Shamanic colleague once said to me:

“Eat root vegetables to get grounded.”

Simple. Wise. True.

Some of my go-to energy boosts between readings include:

  • Bananas (sometimes with low-fat string cheese)
  • Avocados — of course
  • Half a baked potato with tuna or sardines
  • Nuts, fruit, and a small amount of cheese
  • Vegetable soup or bone broth
  • A little chicken or fish

Integrating Food Into Your Spiritual Practice

If you’re working with your intuition or studying energy healing, I highly recommend including dietary awareness in your spiritual practice.

Psychic and energy work isn’t just something we do — it becomes a lifestyle.

As we open to higher consciousness, we’re literally training our bodies to run energy differently.

Supporting that shift through food, rest, and grounding is essential.

I recently saw that avocado milk is making its way to U.S. shelves. That should make for some very colorful breakfast bowls!

I hope you enjoyed this little exploration of what psychic people eat — or at least, what this energy work and intuitive sensitive eats.

One way to grow your psychic ability is to begin to work with your Akashic Records. This expands the connection to your Soul through your Higher Self (aka your intuition).

If you are interested in an Akashic Records Reading, I always recommend starting with the Soul Star Reading.

This reading gives you 3 different immersive experiences of the Akashic Records: –

  1. Connecting with your Divine Soul Blueprint (Soul-level gifts, talents, abilities).
  2. Hearing about a Past Life that contains a karmic pattern ready for clearing (you’ll recognize this pattern in your present life).
  3. Recognizing and clearing present life blocks and restrictions.
