Light Life Archetype Themes
1. The Liberator
Light Life Archetype – Being a liberator light archetype takes enormous presence of mind and focus living our present lives and existing in the modern day, let alone in past lives. For thousands of years, much of humanity has led extremely structured lives, whether through religious adherence, living in tribal structures, being born into a caste or level of society, dressing a certain way, behaving a certain way or even speaking a certain way. If you resonate with the Liberator light archetype, then you may have lived a past life or series of lives questioning and working on freeing yourself from old belief systems, outmoded ideas and negative thought patterns. This means you might have put your life at risk in past lives or been punished for expressing new ideas and ways of being, but you kept at it anyway. How does this light archetype resonate for you in present life, and how could you begin to manifest more of your liberating ideas in present life? Make notes on your thoughts.
2. The Poet
Light Life Archetype – Poets have long been with humanity. Think of a poet as someone who observes, feels, senses and intuits our many life journeys. Poets can express human stories, energies, emotions, cycles, situations and circumstances that seem to pierce the very depths of our soul. People who write poetic verse of any kind have a grasp of our subconscious nature – the symbolic language of the mind that can inspire all of us when we hear it or read it. If you were drawn to this light archetype, then you have lived a past life or lives in the creative realm, anything from speaking to groups, scratching out your poems with a quill or even lyrically reciting or singing them accompanied by an instrument. Have you had a chance to express this gift again in present life? If not, then taking a little time to create a morning page (writing as soon as you wake up) may get your creative juices flowing again.
3. The Visionary
Light Life Archetype – If the light archetype of the Visionary is calling to you, then it’s likely you have had a past life or past lives in areas of growth or during a renaissance era of human history. Visionaries are able to ‘envision’ – that is, within themselves generate new ways of being, living, acting or creating that others may not have conceived of as yet. The inspirational aspect of the visionary light archetype is that you are not afraid of expressing your new concepts to others. This may have caused you to be jeered at in society, excluded from the ‘in’ crowd of the time, or even punished for speaking out – but you stayed aligned to your inner visions. With the Akashic Records, there is a particular Soul Group aligned to the mission of bringing new visions to our world. Do you have ideas or visions you would like to bring to life in present times? Start contemplating them to begin manifestation.
4. The Healer
Light Life Archetype – If you have chosen this light life archetype then you may have spent a past life or series of past lives focusing on service to others through helping to heal people. It’s possible you were in service as a doctor, nurse, energy worker, shaman, nun, monk or even priest or priestess because your Soul’s innate focus is to bring healing to humanity. You may understand that pain is something than can be healed through release of trauma, old patterns, unhealed emotions, use of plant and herbal healing, or other similar modalities. As a healer, remember it’s also important to take care of yourself as well as others, since this level of healing is where the gold is. Where you heal, is where you will be strongest in helping others to heal. It’s also worth finding out what your design and personality ‘wounded healer’ influences are in your Human Design Chart, under the influence of the planet Chiron.
5. The Mentor
Light Life Archetype – Being drawn to the Mentor light life archetype indicates a past life or series of lives where you were able to share wisdom through teaching and personal experience. Passing on wisdom as an elder, or anyone of any age who has learned something useful, is bigger than you might think it is in the story of human survival. We learn by observation and doing, so mentors in the past (and present) have been inventors, keen observers, creators, ideators and inspirational speakers. Have you had a chance to pass on your mentoring skills and knowledge in this life yet? If you have information to share, there will be people who need to hear it, so begin the work again when you can. I also created this podcast around the light archetype of the mentor, which you may enjoy.
6. The Storyteller
Light Life Archetype – The Storyteller light life archetype is one that we can all relate to – because most humans love stories, whether spoken, written or heard in a song. If you are drawn to this light life archetype, you may have lived a past life or series of lives where you understood the power of a story as a mystical journey, we can all enjoy. In present times, stories are often told through movies and tv series, and we all know how popular that medium is. Storytellers have special access to energy in the form of memories, themes, archetypes like this one, or overarching themes or journeys that humanity has lived through. You may not realize it, but you might have a Gatekeeper Guide or Inner Circle Spirit Guide from your Akashic Records who helps you with your storytelling or writing. It’s always worth checking your Gates and Lines influenced by the planet Mercury in your Human Design chart if you are drawn to this light life archetype.
7. The Lover
Light Life Archetype – Passion and devotion to a person, place, cause, movement, location, aspect of nature, art or even the environment, or just the wish to fulfill all desires – will be your thing if you are drawn to this light life archetype. You may have lived a past life or lives where passion was your central motivator. This could have been deep love for another, or a totally focused passion on creating amazing dishes of food, inventing something, growing something, or even starting a cause or movement. Passion has been a major driver of humanity throughout the ages, emanating from our Sacral Chakra – the seat not only of intimacy, connection and reproduction, but creativity, too. As humans the Sacral Chakra is our primary life force center. If you were drawn to this light life archetype, then it might be worth checking out the definition and active gates of your Sacral within your Human Design Chart.
8. The Scribe
Light Life Archetype – Whether you like to write online, in a journal, or do a morning page to get your thoughts down, choosing this light life archetype indicates that you had a past life or lives as a scribe – a scribbler of some kind! BK (Before Keyboarding), scribes would write with a pen of some kind, so whether you were hunched over a scroll in a monastery illuminating a text or having to replicate bills of sale in on a budget scroll for your master in an ancient Arabian town, words, writing and recording information has been your area of expertise before. Have you had any opportunities to reconnect with this part of yourself this time around? From learning some simple calligraphy, to keeping a journal, or even taking a writing course and penning a short story, you can keep this past life aspect moving forward in this life, too. Maybe people will want to read what you have to say.
9. The Artist
Light Life Archetype – Art has so many expressions and forms. The essence of being an Artist is to be able to express your art form. The drive will be there, even if in this life you haven’t found the channel to express it fully, yet. In a past life or lives, perhaps you were a penniless painter, a talented sculptor, maybe you threw pots, or created jewelry, carved Egyptian hieroglyphics in a great temple, wove amazing carpets in a Persian marketplace, or even painted portraits for famous Kings and Queens in Europe. It could have been anything, the spark is there. If you haven’t let the artistic energy flow in this lifetime yet, you could keep it simple with an adult coloring book, paint a mug in one of those craft stores, or even start a knitting project. When the artistic energy flows, the inspiration naturally drops in all by itself.
10. The Child: Magical
Light Life Archetype – The Magical Child – perhaps you have met one? The young person who can see the beauty in so many simple everyday objects and situations, even able to see the beauty in people’s behavior and uniqueness. The light life archetype of the magical child shows a Soul who is able to see the miracle of life, and to hold the belief that everything is possible. Maybe in this life you had a magical childhood – or even if you had a difficult childhood, you found ways to survive through calling in the light of the world. In past lives, you may have been in both situations also. The memories of those delightful, heightened states stay with you in some form, giving you hope and encouragement that our current planetary population will remember the amazing nature of what we have here, and the miracle of life that has happened to us. You may have strong love of magical, mystical stories, and connect with the idea of mystical worlds, fairies and devas.
11. The Knight
Light Life Archetype – Having a pull to the light life archetype of the knight means that in this or other lives, you resonate with strong ideals and uplifting beliefs. You may have lived lives as a warrior of some kind, with the intention of helping or saving people through your battles. Knights had to be very physically fit and were expected to be extremely loyal to the person or cause that they followed. There were rules, regulations and systems to follow to be a knight who upheld the idealism of the day, so you might resonate with structure and a systemic approach to life, because you subconsciously understand the benefits of such a system and remember the feelings of belonging and growth that it gave you. Even when inflicting death or receiving it, if you upheld your honor, your life or other lives would be given in a cause that meant something. Martyrdom and sacrifice were a big part of a knightly life, so those energies may still be present for you today.
12. The Child: Divine
Light Life Archetype – The Child Divine has a special connection to spirit and higher consciousness. If you chose this light life archetype, you may have lived a past life or many lives in service to the Divine, either as a child or as an adult. There will be a connection with the wonder of innocence, and desire to relive the purity of strong faith through religious or spiritual practice. You may feel a special connection to Creator Consciousness, God or the Divine, or put your word for this here ______________. Living this archetype may have meant that your boundaries were easily breached, and others saw your light and innocence and took advantage in some way, in past lives or in the present. Continue to shine, but take care of your boundary-building work in this lifetime.
13. The Mystic
Light Life Archetype – The Mystic is a light life archetype that points the way to our connection with the Divine. Connecting with this archetype may mean that you have spent past lives or many lives experiencing intimate union with Creator Conscious, God, the Greater than Self, or __________ (put your name for this energy here). You may have practiced this ability to connect through a religion, even a cult, and often a Mystery School where people learned how to connect with the mystical for themselves from your innate abilities and wisdom. It’s therefore possible that you were punished or even killed for your strong beliefs and spiritual focus in a past life or lives, if the following you built created a dynamic that threatened the status quo at the time.
14. The Hero/Heroine
Light Life Archetype – Hero and Heroine archetypes inspire us, enliven us and inform our personal journeys in the world. You may connect with this light life archetype because it’s such an all-encompassing world archetype. It may also mean that you’ve spent a past life or lives as someone with a deep passion for the journey of personal empowerment and personal enlightenment. This could have manifested in many ways, from being the leader of a movement, inventing something, inspiring others with unique the way that you lived your life, to traveling the world on some kind of personal journey of discovery. The Hero or Heroine leaves their home, goes on a journey, and comes back changed, that’s the essence of this archetype.
15. The Engineer
Light Life Archetype – The Engineer is somebody we all need. I sometimes joke with clients that a particular Soul Group who are good at engineering systems invented traffic lights on this planet, because the rest of us couldn’t figure out when to stop or go! Engineers sometimes get a bad rap for not being ‘creatives’. Having had a father who was a production engineer, taught physics to students at night school to get his degree, and hand carved wooden sconces for lamps for our house I can confirm that Engineers have a creative side, too. So being attracted to this light life archetype may mean that you had a past life or lives as someone who could channel creative energy into a practical tool, system or approach. Engineers can also be good at problem solving, finding creative ways to the up the game by fixing difficulties or problems. Celebrate the Engineer in you – certainly in our Information Age the ‘geeks’ have ruled the Earth, somewhat.
16. The Pioneer
Light Life Archetype – The Pioneer Light Life Archetype is a person with a passion to create something new, to have that visionary moment where they see ahead, and given the opportunity, lead us to new horizons that can benefit everybody. Pioneers have always played a part throughout history, from the invention of the wheel, Imhotep designing the Egyptian pyramid (I wonder if they even had an Egyptian word for ‘architect’ then?), through to every modern invention from steam, electricity, the printing press, the spinning jenny, right through to modern computers, the iPhone and whatever comes next. If you were drawn to this light life archetype, you will have spent one or many lives focusing on change, the new and different, and stretching the edge of your creativity. In this lifetime, how do you resonate with this information – and if you haven’t had the chance to express your pioneering spirit, where can you begin?
17. The Rebel
Light Life Archetype – The Rebel has always been with us – these are the people who are catalysts in their own lifetimes, or even in their own lunchtime! Rebels can be dynamos who affect social change, and this can involve challenging the status quo. If you have been drawn to this light life archetype, then you will have had one life or many lives being an oppositionist in one way or another. Being rebellious can be seen as dangerous by those who would uphold the current power dynamic, so rebels have often been challenged, had their reputations besmirched, or even been beaten or killed for expression their innate truths. People have caused revolutions in religious practice, spiritual practice and societal practice too – and while this can be a difficult light life archetype to live, it’s very necessary for our evolution and progress as a race of beings. Celebrate your inner Rebel! Sometimes it will have been shut down or muffled because of social conditioning. Perhaps do something simple you’ve always wanted to do to draw it out.
18. The Warrior
Light Life Archetype – Warrior types have a strong will and the focus to carry out a mission, battle or even social cause. If you are drawn to this archetype, you may have lived a past life or lives as a warrior who fights in battles, or even a spiritual warrior who fights for a cause or social change. Perhaps you have strength, skill or discipline in the physical arts, and enjoy the expression of body energy through yoga, tai chi, martial arts or various modern sporting activities. In past lives, you have dealt with trials and tribulations from the physical perspective, so there might be something very stoic or even stubborn about you. If you were a warrior who fought for strong beliefs, a religion, or even a spiritual shift, you will have experienced self-sacrifice in other lives. You might have given your life for a cause, so have worked on conquering the ego for the greater good. Do you still fight the good fight in this life, or have physical skills that you enjoy practicing? If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience this aspect of yourself in present life, perhaps it’s time to try an athletic practice or martial arts skill of some kind.
19. The Goddess
Light Life Archetype – If you are drawn to the Goddess light life archetype, you may have participated in goddess cults in other lives – or you may even come from a Soul Group where your purpose is to assist people with the expression of the Divine Feminine in this life. The energy of the Divine Goddess has not had much of an opportunity to be expressed in the Piscean Age, which was all about engineering, creating systems, and working with a patriarchal mindset. Ways of worshipping from the feminine perspective were systematically removed with a shift to unified world religions. Now that we have moved into the Aquarian Age, a new renaissance of self-identity is emerging in the world, along with the opportunity for the Divine Feminine to reassert itself, from the right to express the Female Self through spirituality, religion, human rights and legal changes. If you resonated with this archetype, you may love to celebrate nature, and the cycles and rhythms of our planet Earth (Gaia). Find rituals, groups and activities that embody the Divine Feminine within.
20. The Networker
Light Life Archetype – The Networker. This might sound like a very modern concept, but this archetype has always been with us. From the matchmaker to the tinker, the town crier to the drummer sending messages across the valley, we have always needed to feel a sense of unity by sending and receiving messages and information that help us to function better as a tribe, village or social group. Networkers are here to raise social awareness, and to help us feel connected by experiencing empathy for others when we learn their news. If you were drawn to this light life archetype, then you may have been a networker in a past life or lives. Traveling and sharing information as a merchant or being a traveling storyteller or musician are some other facets of the networker archetype. If you haven’t had the opportunity to benefit yourself and others by sharing helpful information in this life, perhaps you can find a cause that is dear to your heart, and work with it. Supporting family and friends with positive messages of support and information that helps people is another way to begin.
21. The Samaritan
Light Life Archetype – Life can be busy, whether it’s your present life or those lives you have lived before. To survive here on planet Earth, we have to work hard at this stage in our evolution to eat, have a place to live, and help our families survive. The good Samaritan is a well-known story from the Christian bible stories. Samaritans experience opportunities to help those that others might ignore or be too overwhelmed to help out with at the time. When we act as Samaritans, it refines our ability to notice when others are struggling and increases our capacity to help others more. If you were drawn to this archetype, then you will have spent a past life or lives in service to others in some way, perhaps even those that are really struggling. If you feel the urge to help out in your present life, there are plenty of opportunities – to volunteer at a non-profit, a food kitchen or as a mentor to people who are working on their education in a field you may specialize in.
22. The Athlete
Light Life Archetype – The Athlete archetype is all about transformation of the Self, and a dedication to moving through physical limits, even handicaps. If you resonate with this archetype, you may have lived a past life or lives as a gladiator, Olympian or sportsperson of some kind. Even goatherds needed to be athletes in the day! Knights too, since that armor was pretty heavy. Having a life devoted to athleticism would also result in a lifetime or lives where your Soul got the opportunity to develop personal willpower and spiritual backbone. If you were drawn to this light life archetype and haven’t fulfilled your athletic potentials yet in this lifetime, it’s never too late to start.
23. The Hermit
Light Life Archetype – If you are attracted to the archetype of the Hermit, then you may have experienced a life or many lifetimes in times of solitude, so that you could focus on your inner life, either for philosophical, religious or spiritual purposes. When someone takes time away from society to focus on the inner world, creativity can go through the roof. People intentionally isolate themselves to write, to meditate, to be at one with nature, or even to take an amazing journey (hiking, sailing, mountain climbing). Monks and nuns used to self-isolate to be at one with their spiritual or religious experiences, mystics would do this also, and in the Tibetan tradition continue to do so, often for years. If you are attracted to this light life archetype and yearn for privacy, peace and quiet in this lifetime, it may be because you have spent many lives doing exactly this. Many of us have lived lives dedicated to a religious or spiritual order, and when we have a life that doesn’t include that, we crave it in some way.
24. The Alchemist
Light Life Archetype – The Alchemist archetype can be literally that – someone who is seeking to transform base metals into something more valuable – or someone who is able to create magical new ways of thinking, behaving, being – or even systems and approaches, by somehow magically transforming or synthesizing ideas, concepts or materials into something new, even revolutionary. Alchemy is also a spiritual concept, where we synthesize ourselves into a higher vibration of some kind through work, application and personal growth. Paulo Coehlo’s famous book ‘The Alchemist‘ speaks of a journey taken by someone that fast tracks their spiritual growth through self-enquiry and personal growth on a literal journey or quest – highly recommended reading. Human Design even has an energetic channel devoted to The Alchemist archetype. So perhaps in a past life or lives, you were an alchemist (think science and spirituality combined), or someone who could create magical results by synthesizing more than one element, idea or approach.
