How to Read the Akashic Records of a House
Do houses have energetic imprints that can be read, the Akashic Records of a house?
I believe they do. Every building holds energetic memories, like a living record of its experiences and the people who’ve passed through it.
However, as with any form of energetic work, permission matters. To avoid creating karmic entanglements, you must have permission from the owner in some way.
Here’s how it works, and how reading the Akashic Records of a home has helped me (and others) find clarity when buying, selling, or renting property.
Do Houses Really Have Akashic Records?
Do Houses Really Have Akashic Records?
If you’ve ever walked into a building and immediately felt something: warmth, heaviness, sadness, joy — you’ve already brushed up against the energetic memory of a place.
The energy of a house can be read remotely, but only with permission from the person who owns or rents it.
- If a house is for sale or rent, its Records are considered open, meaning anyone can read them ethically. This is because the owner has already invited public energetic access through the listing.
- If you already own or rent the property, you naturally have full permission to access its Records.
Sometimes this energy comes from Earthbound souls who haven’t fully transitioned. Other times, it’s an energetic imprint from the building’s history.
I’ve personally experienced this many times, one example being the famously haunted Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, Kansas. (You can read that story here if you’d like a few chills!)
So yes, in my experience, houses do have Akashic Records, energetic “files” that contain their history, emotions, and experiences.
Buying or Selling a House — and Reading Its Energy
Buying, selling, or renting a home can be stressful, highly emotional, and energetically complex.
Reading the Akashic Records of a house can offer insight into why a sale might be slow, what energy is lingering in the space, or whether a home is aligned with your highest good.
Before diving into how this works, here’s a bit of my own experience with homes and moves, both practical and energetic.
A Little Background
Over the years, I’ve lived in the south of England and across four U.S. states.
I’ve owned three houses in the UK, rented two others, and in the U.S., I’ve co-owned three homes and now own my current property here in Kansas.
From cracked slabs and leaking sump pumps to tricky school districts and mid-move chaos with toddlers, I’ve learned a lot about homes, energy, and timing.
I still remember trying to close the sale on our California house while holding a phone in one ear and a wiggly toddler trying to speak into the other!
When the Market Crashed — Maryland, 2008
In 2008, we were living in Maryland and preparing to move out of state just as the housing market began to collapse.
We listed our home, but the offers didn’t come. My husband had already moved to Kansas for work, and I was left managing showings and keeping the house spotless with two small girls in tow.
Something told me the house would sell only after we left, so I decided to trust that intuition.
Before we moved, a lunar moth appeared on our front door and stayed for two days. I took it as a sign of transformation and release.
A Psychic Reading Opens the Door

I asked a psychic colleague of mine to look at our house and see how we could best sell it, given the current market conditions.
She said that a lady called Mary wanted to buy it, but she hadn’t put an offer in because she had a problem with her current property.
Her words felt true, so I asked our realtor: “Did a woman named Mary view the property?”
The agent was surprised because she didn’t know how I knew that. “Yes, Mary B***** — she’s a lecturer at St. Mary’s College. She adored your house but couldn’t get out of her lease.”
With some creative thinking (and a little online research), we found a way to help Mary end her lease early. She bought the house soon after and even wrote us a heartfelt letter thanking us for “the beautiful energy” she felt there.
We took a small loss on the sale, but it balanced the gains we’d made in California a few years earlier, and energetically, it felt like a fair exchange.
From Experience to Practice
After years of buying, selling, and relocating, I began formal studies and became a certified Akashic Records Reader.
By then, I’d seen firsthand how the energetic patterns of a home can affect not just the sale process, but also the emotional well-being of everyone connected to it.
How to Read the Akashic Records of a House
A house’s Records can only be read ethically if:
- The home is for sale or rent (its energy is open to potential new custodians), or
- You own or rent the property yourself and grant permission.
If neither of these applies, then reading a home’s Records without consent can create karmic entanglement — essentially, energetic trespassing.
Just as we wouldn’t want someone peering into our personal Akashic Records without permission, we extend the same respect to spaces.
A Kansas House with a Hidden Problem
When we were house-hunting in Kansas, one property caught our eye.
Before the second viewing, I opened the Akashic Records to sense its energy. Immediately, I saw cracks in the foundation and a sump pump issue.
When we returned the next day, the realtor apologized:
“The sump pump broke last night, and the furnace room flooded.”
Sure enough, as we looked outside, water was seeping through cracked patio walls, the very same ones I had sensed energetically.
That confirmation gave me confidence to trust my intuitive connection with the Akashic Field.
We decided against buying that house and later found a property that aligned perfectly with our energy and needs at the time.
