I hope it was that which I gave to my son when he was growing up. He said “I don’t have any friends, how can I get some friends?”
Although he was very young, I told him two things. In order to get a friend you have to be ready to be a friend. Click to tweet.
And also I told him, there’s a place in you that you must keep inviolate. You must keep it pristine, clean, because nobody has the right to curse you or treat you badly, no-one, no Mother, no Father, nobody, because that may be the place you go to when you meet God. You have to have a place where you say No when it’s No. ‘Stop it! Back up…you must not, No! And that’s one I told you (Oprah) 25 years ago.
Oprah: And that has to be a place within you…Nothing tops having the place inside yourself that nobody else has a right to invade.
