Akashic Records: A Complete Guide to Understanding Your Records

If the Akashic Records are something you feel curious about, you may already be standing at the edge of your own fifth-dimensional experience. I’ve gathered these resources to support you as you explore what the Records are, how they work, and how they may be revealing themselves on your spiritual journey.

What the Akashic Records Are

Your Akashic Records are as necessary to your spiritual journey as breathing or inhabiting a human body.

I say this because the Records are the system of incarnation itself. They record each life you live and store that information as emotional and electromagnetic energy at the soul level.

This is how the Soul understands its own journey, how it reflects on what has been experienced, decides on future incarnations, carries unresolved karma forward, and remembers its innate wisdom.

You might imagine your Akashic Records as a large, leather‑bound book, with each lifetime written as a chapter. Others experience them as a kind of inner library, a computer‑like interface, or even as points or discs of light surrounding the body. There is no wrong way to perceive this energy. The Records are already part of who you are.

This emotional and electromagnetic information is stored within your seven energy bodies during life and is transmitted back to the Soul after transition. This is one reason many spiritual traditions speak of people experiencing a “life review”.

We can access this energy through meditative prayer, intentional energy practice, and more directly through having an Akashic Records Reading.

How Our Aura or Biofield is Constructed

When we are born, we arrive with a personal energy field, often called the aura, and now referred to in scientific language as the biofield. Within this biofield, the Akashic information from past lives is stored and can be accessed if and when we are ready.

This is what people often refer to as past‑life readings or regressions.

From birth onward, your biofield contains two primary streams of energy.

The first is Soul Energy, also known as vital force energy or chi. This energy originates from your Divine Soul Blueprint—the same core frequency transmitted from lifetime to lifetime.

The second is human or discordant energy. This includes the conditioning we receive through culture, family, belief systems, emotional experiences, and survival patterns. It also holds our fears, illusions, and emotional imprints.

Both streams move through all of your body systems. In everyday life, it’s natural to pay more attention to the human layer, because you are incarnated as a human, after all. That is part of the Soul’s intention.

At certain points, however, life can feel heavy, confusing, or disorienting. This is often when we begin to hear the quiet call of our Soul Energy again. We start asking deeper questions. We remember that we are more than our conditioning, and we begin to search for meaning and deeper purpose.

The Akashic Records and Your Seven Energy Bodies

When life becomes challenging, you may feel drawn to a deeper understanding of your Soul Energy. It has always been there, waiting patiently. One of the most direct ways to experience this energy is through your Akashic Records.

The Records are woven throughout the system of incarnation. We are born with a biofield composed of seven distinct energy bodies:

These are: –

• The Physical Body – your physical form, life force, and DNA.
• The Astral or Emotional Body – present from birth; it collects and transmits emotions and desires.
• The Mental Body – begins to form around ages two to three as beliefs and thought patterns develop.
• The Causal Body – records positive actions and experiences as light; returns to the Soul at transition.
• The Buddhic Body – a higher octave of the emotional body, associated with grace, bliss, and spiritual insight.
• The Atmic Body – a higher expression of the mental body, where divine insight and inspired action arise.
• The Monadic Body – surrounds all others and connects you continuously to your Soul and Soul Group.

The Akashic Records flow through all of these layers.

The Soul Star Chakra

One of the most accessible gateways to the Akashic Records is the Soul Star Chakra, located approximately 24 inches above the head.

This chakra holds a concentrated frequency of Akashic energy, which is why I often recommend that new clients begin with a Soul Star Reading. This experience allows you to connect with your Records through three distinct energetic perspectives in a one‑to‑one channelled session.

I’ve been offering these readings since 2016, and they provide a gentle yet powerful introduction to Akashic awareness.

Your Biofield, or Electromagnetic Field

Akashic information can also be accessed through the electromagnetic structure of the biofield, particularly the energetic fibres behind the body.

While training in the EMF Balancing Technique®, I began spontaneously receiving past‑life information from this area during sessions.

The same thing later occurred during reflexology work, where stimulation of the feet, hands, or ears opened pathways to Akashic memory.

I now see these experiences as part of my gradual opening to the Records, which formally began around 2010. Before that, I had been offering energy work to clients, starting in 2005. In hindsight, this steady immersion in energy practice prepared my system to access the Records.

How to Access The Akashic Records For Yourself

If you’ve read this far, you may be wondering how to access your own Records.

One of the foundational truths of this work is that we are always immersed in our Akashic Records. Being incarnated means you are already within them.

When we enter the physical body, we step into a denser dimension—often called the third dimension.

This is sometimes referred to as the “veil of forgetting,” because while we arrive with all our energy bodies intact, our Soul’s history becomes temporarily obscured.

Accessing the Records involves gently expanding awareness beyond the third dimension, through the fourth (thoughts, emotions, dreams, and meditation), and into the fifth—the dimension of Akashic Records knowing.

What Blocks Us From Akashic Access?

Alongside our energy bodies, we are also born with what I call the Soul’s hidden history. This includes karma from past lives, innate gifts (dharma), and the genetic karma carried through our family line. These two streams—Soul history and ancestral history—interweave continuously throughout our lives.

Karmic patterns are not punishments; they are unresolved energetic themes seeking understanding. Until they are brought into awareness, they can cloud our perception of the Records or distort what we receive.

When we incarnate, we have a Spirit Guide team who supports us throughout our current incarnation. With us, they have helped us to select the life we are living, and understand the Life Lessons we chose to incarnate with.

What Can We Learn From The Akashic Records?

Think of the difference between a baby’s energy (mostly pure Soul Energy) and a 7-year-old’s energy. Then imagine yourself as a teenager and as an adult.

Over time, we become increasingly immersed in human energy rather than the open, joyful Soul Energy we began with. We were once the baby who giggled easily, grabbed their toes, and laughed freely.

As we become socialised and programmed by our culture of origin, enough discordant or human energy can accumulate that we cease to connect regularly with our Divine Soul Blueprint and our innate sense of joy.

Reconnecting with your Soul’s hidden history and your genetic karma can be extremely helpful in understanding where you are on your spiritual journey right now.

The Akashic Records help us understand why certain themes, relationships, or challenges repeat in our lives. They illuminate life lessons, soul contracts, gifts carried forward from other lifetimes, and the deeper meaning behind our experiences.

The information revealed is always oriented toward growth, healing, and self‑understanding.

Why More People Are Accessing the Akashic Records Now

We are shifting out of the Piscean Age and into what is often called the Akashic Age—an age of global connection and greater awareness of ourselves as a unique race of beings here on Earth.

As people achieve better health, stability, and material goals, deeper questions arise: What else is there? and Why am I here?

This search for purpose increases self‑awareness, raises our energetic vibration, and expands our sense of being part of something greater than the individual self.

As our understanding of Self grows, energetic pathways to our past lives (through the fibres behind the body) and to our Higher Self (through the Soul Star Chakra) begin to activate more strongly.

Once we reach a certain Soul vibration, the Akashic Records often become something we begin to sense naturally. Most people who come to me for readings are already experiencing these openings, or they are aware of a significant block to further spiritual expansion and feel ready to clear it.

Six Signs You Are Accessing the Akashic Records

The Akashic Records exist within fifth‑dimensional awareness and are present throughout our energy bodies.

There are, however, two key focal points for Akashic access:

• Behind the body, within the golden fibres of the energetic lattice (UCL), approximately 24 inches behind the upper back

• Above the head, in the Soul Star Chakra, approximately 24 inches above the crown.

On the spiritual journey, many people want to understand why they are here, what their purpose is, and how to live their best life.

Working with the Akashic Records can offer insight into these questions, although there are no one‑size‑fits‑all answers.
